Double the excitement! A home game and #2 ranked opponent.
What an exciting game to watch as the girls never quit and kept pressing throughout the game with a strong finish giving the SEU Fire their first lead of the game and a victory of 5-2 against a strong William Carey team.
Both teams came into the game with a 2-0 record. William Carey with an impressive 10-1 goal differential from the first game and SEU Fire with a 6-1 goal differential in their first games. A fun stat that was shared in the game was how only 4 shots on goal were allowed during the first two games against William Carey.
In today’s game, Madelyn didn’t get the start, however, she did get 28 mins of game time with a bunch of great passing plans and a few missed goals including a header attempt. The excitement of the team when Omea scored the fifth, final, and winning goal was so incredible to watch. Go Fire! Even the fans were chest-bumping and cheering the team on.

Great all-around play by SEU, especially with the knowledge of how William Carey had managed their first two games as the No 2 ranked team in the nation in NAIA.
