Varsity Soccer as a Freshman

Fall 2018 has been an incredible year of firsts. First to go to local public High School. Made the varsity girls soccer team as a freshman. First High School homecoming. And this year the Soccer team won the award for Academic Championship for having the highest GPA as a team. With this championship captured and an incredible season now the team prepares now for post season games.

Madelyn has been having a great season playing with this great group of girls making many new friends and reuniting with many of whom she has played various local sports with over the years. Go Cedarcrest!

2018 is off to a great start…

Madelyn aka MadDog is now involved in both Soccer and Basketball.

Her Basketball career started with middle school team this fall and she is now on the Cedar Crest select team with a great group of girls and friends from the middle school team. Joining the team a bit late it is interesting as the names on the outer and inner jersey/shirt aren’t her as it didn’t make sense to from a timing perspective to order full gear.

She is currently playing select basketball, premier soccer, and middle school soccer with flag football coming in a few weeks.

Premier Soccer: The season started out a bit bumpy in finding a coach but the girls have really started to gel. This year she decided to start with a new team and this year she is also playing with girls her own age. Eastside FC is a great organization and she is on a great team of girls. Eastside FC went to Arizona and won the tournament. It was a fun and exciting time to watch the girls come together and deal with the pressure of great competition and then to win the championship game in penalty kicks having played catch up in the game which ended tied 2-2 and then finished with 4-3 win in penalty kicks in a hard fought game against FC Dallas.

 

 

Track and Field 2017

2017 was another fun and great year for Madelyn running and throwing at the 7th grade level. This year we just learned she has beat the record again in the discus event. Congratulations Madelyn for throwing 73’7″ beating the previous record set back in 1997 of 71′.

This was another great year for her competing in the 100, 4×100, and 100 medley with great success.

 

Soccer Tryouts – Results…

This year Madelyn tried out for a new team and after going to a kick-around with one of her friends from the team and then two days of tries, she was offered a position with the Eastside FC u14 girls team – also known as the A team, the Red team, and the  Eastside Reign A2.

Wishing all the girls from her old team all the best as it has been an amazing group of girls and team and looking forward to the new adventures about to being with the new team.

 

2016 Flag Football Season

This year was a new season with a new team. With the older group, field was full width but still only half the length. The majority of the games found Madelyn’s team having to play mercy rules as they were a very dominant team this year. With the season over and making it to the semi-final game the team lost but ended with a great season for the team. This year Madelyn got to play a lot of QB for the team and was welcomed by her teammates.

Track & Field season 2016

This was Madelyn’s first season in Track & Field. She had a great time making a lot of great friends and having a lot of success. Be it running in the 100, 200, 400, 4×100, medley, or throwing discus, she was able to be at the top of the group. This year she was even able to break the 6th grade girl’s school record for discus with 64′ throw.
