The win marked the Fire's 10th of the season, improving them to 10-2-2 overall and 5-1 in Sun Conference play, while securing their sixth clean sheet of the year. The Fire wasted no time setting the tone as Madelyn Davidson opened the scoring in the fourth minute, slotting home her fourth goal of the year off an assist from Ariadna Lozano. Southeastern kept up the early pressure, racking up 12 first-half shots and converting two more before the break. Lozano doubled the lead in the 34th minute with her seventh goal of the campaign, assisted by Olivia Thomassy and Sara Irurozki, before Olivia Hadad buried a quick follow-up just 46 seconds later on a feed from Davidson to make it 3–0 at halftime.

Game Recap: Women's Soccer | 10/15/2025 5:08:00 PMSEU Upends No. 1 Keiser on the RoadFire strike three times—including Davidson’s late chip—for marquee road victoryWEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The No. 21 SEU Women's Soccer team pulled off a monumental upset on Wednesday morning, taking down top-ranked Keiser University 3–2 at Arrigo-Vecellio Field. The Fire struck twice in the first half and reclaimed the lead late behind a composed finish from Madelyn Davidson to secure one of the program's most memorable regular-season wins. The Seahawks opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Lauren Riley converted a header off a corner from Steingerthur Snorrad. Southeastern answered quickly, as senior defender Ramsey Watkins found the equalizer in the 21st minute with her second goal of the year. The Fire then took the lead in the 35th minute when Olivia Hadad slotted home her sixth of the season off an assist from Sara Irurozki, giving SEU a 2–1 advantage heading into the break.Keiser drew level in the 71st minute on a strike from Delia Letelier, but the Fire refused to fade. In the 83rd minute, Davidson raced onto a pass from Ariadna Lozano, beat a defender to the ball, and chipped it calmly over the onrushing keeper for what proved to be the game-winner—her third goal of the season.

Madelyn in MotionMadelyn Davidson has become a catalyst for the Fire's fluid, possession-based style. With two goals and two assists, Davidson links the lines with clean distribution and sharp decision-making. Her tactical understanding and technical control make her one of the Fire's most valuable midfield connectors.

Game Recap: Women's Soccer | 10/4/2025 11:09:00 PMLate Goal Sinks Fire in Road BattleSEU controls the pace but concedes in the final minutes against Florida MemorialMIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- SEU Women's Soccer dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision to Florida Memorial on Saturday afternoon in Miami, with the deciding goal coming in the 89th minute. The Fire dictated much of the match's rhythm, controlling possession and building consistent pressure throughout both halves but couldn't capitalize on a number of quality chances.SEU came out sharp in the opening 20 minutes, generating multiple looks through Grace Banker and Madelyn Davidson, who each forced saves from FMU goalkeeper Isabella Rueda. The Fire continued to press through the midfield, earning four corner kicks and outshooting the Lions 9-5 in the first half. Coming out of halftime, Southeastern again pushed forward, keeping the ball in the attacking third for much of the second period while Rueda and the FMU defense held firm.

Game Recap: Women's Soccer | 10/1/2025 9:49:00 PMRanked Fire Roll in Sun OpenerLozano and Hadad combine for four goals as No. 24 SEU controls possession in Sun Conference openerLAKELAND, Fla. -- SEU Women's Soccer made a statement in its Sun Conference opener Wednesday night, rolling past Ave Maria 4-0 at the SEU Soccer Field. The victory came on the same afternoon the Fire entered the NAIA Women's Soccer Top 25 for the first time this season, debuting at No. 24.From the outset, Southeastern showed why it earned national recognition, overwhelming the Gyrenes with pace and creativity in the attacking third. After a handful of early chances, Ariadna Lozano opened the scoring in the 18th minute, finishing off a service from defender Alva Jonsson. Just five minutes later, Olivia Hadad doubled the lead when she slotted home a pass from Madelyn Davidson. Lozano nearly struck again in the 37th minute when she rattled the crossbar, but made good on her next opportunity in the 42nd, converting on an assist from Carmen Garcia Llanes to give the Fire a commanding 3-0 advantage at halftime. The pressure carried over after the break. In the 50th minute, Lozano turned provider, springing Hadad for her second goal of the match to close out the scoring at 4-0. Southeastern continued to dictate possession and tempo, generating opportunities while rotating players freely. Goalkeeper Sofia Diaz was untested, as the Fire defense held Ave Maria without a shot on goal and conceded just three attempts overall.Hadad and Lozano each tallied a brace to lead the offense, while Jonsson, Davidson, and Garcia Llanes provided the assists. SEU also earned five corner kicks to none for Ave Maria, highlighting the Fire's sustained territorial control.

Southeastern (FL) women 5, New College of Florida 0: Senior Madelyn “Mad Dog” Davidson, from Carnation, pocketed a goal and assist to help SEU blank the league rivals from Florida at home in Lakeland, FL, last night. Davidson found what appeared to be an errant pass and flicked it in with her left foot for the opening goal of the game in the fourth minute, then assisted on a goal by teammate Olivia Hadad with about 10 minutes left in the first half. Davidson, a Cedarcrest HS grad, started for the Fire and worked 78 minutes, recording four shots, all on goal, in the game.

Soccer: Lower Valley’s Davidson delivers a big goal for her team in massive upset winCarnation’s Madelyn “Mad Dog” Davidson has been part of some fantastic moments the past four years for the women’s soccer team at Florida’s Southeastern University. But the senior perhaps delivered her most memorable one yesterday. She took a feed from teammate Ariadna Lozano, broke away past a defender, and chip shotted it into the goal for what turned out to be the game-winner for the Fire as Southeastern pulled off its biggest regular season win in years perhaps – a 3-2 road win over Florida in-state rival Keiser University, the top-ranked team in all of NAIA women’s soccer, down in West Palm Beach, FL. The Cedarcrest High School alum started and played 74 minutes, recording three shots, two on goal including that game-winning goal which happened with about seven minutes left in regulation. The win moved Southeastern in front of Keiser in the NAIA Sun Conference standings and was only the second loss of the season for that top-ranked team.

SoccerSoutheastern (FL) women 7, Webber International 2: The Fire no pun intended turned the heat on their in-state rivals very quickly at home in Lakeland, FL, last night scoring four first-half goals then cruising to the win. Owing to how quickly things got into SEU’s favor, senior Madelyn “Mad Dog” Davidson, from Carnation, started but ended up playing just 46 minutes in this one with the Cedarcrest HS alum getting two shots, one on goal, but no goals unfortunately.

Southeastern (FL) 2, SCAD-Savannah 1: Southeastern defender Danielle Vogel, a junior from Florida, was a late substitution into last night’s key NAIA Sun Conference clash between the Fire and the perennial league powerhouse from Georgia on SCAD’s turf outside of Savannah, GA – she subbed in in the 79th minute and played just the final 12 minutes. But what it was she did with 33 seconds left in the game may have sparked a push for the Fire towards a strong postseason berth.Vogel took a feed from teammate Ariadna Lozano and fired it top shelf past the SCAD keeper and into the net for a goal, breaking a 1-1 tie and propelling the Fire to a stunning and massive road win. Senior Madelyn “Mad Dog” Davidson, from Carnation and a 2022 Cedarcrest HS grad, started and played 80 minutes in this one for Southeastern with no stats of note reported.

SoccerCollege soccer action from this past weekend involving athletes from the Valley:Florida Memorial 1, Southeastern (FL) women 0: The Fire dropped their first NAIA Sun Conference game of the fall on the road Saturday night against their in-state rivals down in south Florida. Senior Madelyn “Mad Dog” Davidson, she of Carnation and a Cedarcrest HS grad, started for Southeastern logging 82 minutes and recording four shots, one on goal, with no goals scored.

SoccerSoutheastern (FL) 4, Ave Maria 0: The Fire no pun intended turned up the heat on their in-state rivals in the NAIA Sun Conference opener for both squads on home turf for SEU in Lakeland, FL., Senior Madelyn “Mad Dog” Davidson, from Carnation, started the game for the Fire and logged 47 minutes assisting on one of the three first-half SEU goals, a 24th minute tally by teammate Olivia Hadad that was the first of two on the night for the freshman from Bradenton, FL. Fantastic leadership from Davidson to help her young teammate out on that goal, good stuff. Davidson is a Cedarcrest HS grad.

Sunday Post:

We have a dual headliner this morning involving a pair of young ladies from the lower Valley who dazzled yesterday in their respective sports, helping their teams post successful results. First, we hit the soccer pitch, where Carnation's Madelyn "Mad Dog" Davidson was once again a difference maker for Southeastern University of Florida's ladies. The junior scored both of her team's goals, including the game winner with about five minutes left in regulation, helping SEU sneak past New College of Florida last night 2-1 on the Florida Gulf Coast. Davidson, a junior with the Fire, had a total of seven shots recorded in the game, five on goal, as the Fire needed every last bit of the Cedarcrest HS grad's energy to score that much-needed win as Southeastern has struggled to start the season. WTG Mad Dog!
